After an amazing Fun in the Field Lavender Festival, we decided to take a break...from blogging, that is. We have been incredibly busy since that great day back in early June. Let's catch up on what has been going on.
First, we must tell you about our gift shop! If you came to the Festival, you no doubt saw that our gift shop was not quite finished. We are pleased to say that it is now (mostly) done! Check it out:
We hope you think it's as beautiful as we think it looks. We're still working on some of the finishing touches, like a more permanent checkout counter and necessary storage needs. Come visit us next time you're in town.
After the Festival was over, we also got to enjoy the great work of some magnificent photographers who came to the farm to take pictures of loved ones amongst the lavender. We enjoyed seeing their joy in our fields. We also began harvesting this spring's lavender harvest. We still have plenty of dried lavender bundles for sale at our booth at local markets.
Speaking of harvested lavender, we have also been distilling our own essential oils from this batch of lavender. We had a small, stovetop still that did the trick in our first tiny harvest last fall. But, with a harvest this great, we needed something a bit bigger:
You can purchase the our steam-distilled oil in The Store and at our Farmer's Market booths. Be sure to check it out!
Our time at the local markets has truly been unbelievable. It still amazes us how much you support our farm. The conversations we get to have with each of you are truly cherished by our family.
We are looking forward to some upcoming events at the Farm. Stayed tuned to our Facebook page and website for more information. We are looking forward to being at the Cassville Chamber Chili Cook Off and Car Show in October and the Minneapolis, MN Craft Fair in November as well as our weekly market booths in NW Arkansas.
Finally, if you don't know it yet, the Lavender Growers community is one which deeply supports each other. During a family trip to Rhode Island and Connecticut in mid-July for our niece's wedding, we had the opportunity to stop by Lavender Pond Farm in Killingworth, CT. We loved walking through their beautiful gardens and sitting by their pond. It was a spectacular (though incredibly hot) day and the staff were out and about caring for all of the plants. You can check out their farm here: Lavender Pond Farm.
We hope you stop by and see us again soon. We love hearing your stories of how our products are used in your lives to help calm nerves, anxieties, and generally make your life better. After all, that's why we do this.
Before you go, please stop by our online store. More products will be coming online soon and our more temperature sensitive products will be back in our lineup (including our most popular and beloved item - Lavender Body Butter!!). Also, check out some of our new products available at our market booth and our now all-natural simple syrup, now with no artificial coloring.
